The Quality Assurance Unit of African university College of Communications (AUCC) has held a refresher course for heads of department and administrative staff on Thursday, November 5, 2020 to improve their skills on administrative procedures, reports, minutes writing and records keeping.

Coordinated by the Head of Quality Assurance Unit, AUCC, Prof. Kingsley Andoh-Kumi and Mr. Frank Amewugah, the training session centred on providing and improving skills in administrative procedures, report writing, minutes writing and records keeping. Prof. Andoh-Kumi advised all staff to strictly adhere to all administrative procedures by reporting any bottlenecks to the appropriate offices for redress. Mr. Amewugah had an interactive session with staff on the different types of report writing and the basic structure in writing minutes.

Participants have generally recounted the importance and impact of the training in the execution of their tasks. A Senior Administrative Assistant at the Academic Support Unit, Mr. Adolphus Lokko indicated that the training served as eye opener because it had widened his scope in making informed administrative decisions.

The Head of Human Resource, Mr. Francis Sampson said “it is important to properly mobilize our response efforts in the immediate wake of the crisis to stay competitive and safeguard our market share”. He indicated that there will be series of workshops periodically to address pressing issues confronting staff and faculty.

The workshop was attended by over 30 administrative staff.
