  • HEALTH AID HOLDS 3RD BREAKFAST MEETING

    The Health AID, AUCC under the auspices of Health AID Ghana has held a breakfast meeting on Wednesday, May 3, 2016 at the Ekua Yankah Boardroom, AUCC. Dubbed “A date with a clinical psychologist”, the meeting was organized to create awareness and sensitize students on good health choices, health related issues, diseases and proper management of stress.

    Delivering a speech at the event, Dr. Ama Afun, Clinical Psychologist at the Accra Psychiatric Hospital said that stress has become part of students especially anytime examination beckons.. She added that research has proven that stress is more prevalent in the work place. She therefore asked all to take stress management seriously. Dr. Afun took participants through topics like variations, symptoms, effects, stress management among others. She later took participants through what she called “Deep Muscle Relaxation” (DMR) Exercises to get them rejuvenated before the commencement of the end of semester examinations.

    The Director of Students’ Affairs, Mr. Frank Amewuga speaking at the event thanked the executives of Health AID, AUCC for such a wonderful programme. He particularly commended the selfless efforts of Geoffrey Opoku-Darko for being the brain behind the formation of the group. He tasked the new executives to work harder to maintain, if not to improve, the current atmosphere of progress in the club.

    The Health Breakfast Meeting was attended by Faculty, Staffs and selected Students. A representative from HerbaLife Ghana, Mr. J. B. Andrews was also given the opportunity to deliver a short presentation on their herbal products. Participants were refreshed with products from HerbaLife.

    New executives for the 2016/2017 Academic year were out-doored by Geoffrey Opoku-Darko.
