Mr. Philip Kankam, Librarian and Director of Institutional Research, AUCC has been appointed Registrar, AUCC, effective Feb. 1, 2014.Mr. Kankam is a holder of a BA degree in Information Studies and Political Science from the University of Ghana, Legon and a MA degree in Information Studies (Library) from the same university. He also holds a Master’s in Human Rights from the University of Education, Winneba.
Mr. Kankam was formerly a Student Computing Officer at the University of Ghana ICT Directorate and was a former Student Reference Librarian at the Balme Library of the same university.
In 2010, he was appointed Librarian of AUCC’s Sam Quaicoe Library and has since worked diligently to increase the Library’s collection of both print and electronic materials. He has also worked assiduously to ensure that both faculty and students have access to valuable databases including that of Ohio University library and e-libraryUSA. In his capacity as Director of Institutional Research, Mr. Kankam has conducted various studies aimed at improving the quality of teaching and learning and providing constructive developmental feedback to the University.
Mr. Kankam is a Member of the American Library Association and former member, University of Ghana Chaplaincy Board.
