BROADCAST JOURNALISM

The sought-after AUCC Broadcast Journalism Course focuses on writing and reporting well-balanced, comprehensive and visually compelling stories for Radio, Television and New Media.

By the end of this course, participants will:

  • Become professional producers and/or presenters for the Broadcast media.
  • Be able to research, report, write, shoot and edit stories, and upload them on YouTube and other social media platforms including Facebook.
  • Be able to sharpen their news judgment and leadership skills by producing live radio and television newscasts, creating digital content, and using social media.

 

BROADCAST ENGINEERING

The AUCC Broadcast Engineering course is designed to provide the specialized knowledge required for a career as a broadcast engineering technician at an AM and FM radio stations or a TV station.

By the end of this course, participants will have a firm understanding of the Electronics technology found in Broadcast Engineering; along with the increasing presence of mobile media and digital audio in today's marketplace.

 

EFFECTIVE COMMUNICATION AND PUBLIC SPEAKING

This course is specially designed and delivered to equip participants with the requisite knowledge and skills to listen and speak competently in a variety of communication contexts. These may include public, interpersonal, and/or small-group settings. This is done through a combination of speaking, listening, writing, and reading assignments.

By the end of this course, participants will:

  • Be able to outline, develop, and deliver extemporaneous speeches incorporating relevant sources.
  • Learn how to develop and deliver messages that are appropriate and effective for the audience, purpose, and context using logical arguments within an ethical framework.

 

EFFECTIVE COMMUNICATION AND MANAGEMENT SKILLS FOR RELIGIOUS LEADERS

This specialized course trains participants to acquire the key communication and management techniques and strategies needed by religious leaders. The course begins by taking participants through a step-by-step manner on how to successfully prepare for, and engage in any difficult conversation that may arise in a religious setting.

By the end of this course, participants will:

  • Learn about the rules of communication and management, the importance of non-verbal communication and how to develop effective listening skills.
  • Learn to manage the human resource and logistics of the institutions they lead; build rapport with colleagues, followers and the general public
  • Be able to plan, develop and effectively deliver a sermon.

 

EVENTS MANAGEMENT, PROTOCOL & PROPOSAL WRITING

AUCC’s combined Events Management, Protocol & Proposal Writing course equips participants to become specialists in the strategic management of events, the relevant rules of protocol and the appropriate ways to write and present proposals. By the end of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Acquire the knowledge needed to carry out all the functions involved in the exercise of protocol in different professional spheres (social, institutional and business).
  • design a Strategic Plan of Events and identify resources needed to design and carry out an event and assess their impact on different groups.

 

BLOGGING AND SOCIAL MEDIA MARKETING

This course will equip participants with the requisite knowledge and skills in creating personal and corporate blogs, techniques for updating these weblogs with relevant contents, and, the most effective, yet inexpensive ways of marketing your blog to draw traffic and increase revenue from advertising.

By the end of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Exhibit the rudiments of citizen journalism, interviewing skills, writing skills, branding, networking, internet research and crowd sourcing in their works
  • Produce and edit photographs, audio and video for websites.
