The Institute of Public Relations,
Ghana (IPR) student’s chapter of the Africa University College
of Communications (AUCC) organized a days seminar dubbed ‘Coca
Cola/PR day’.
The objective of the event was to
give Coca Cola Ghana Limited, the opportunity to share their Integrated
Marketing Communications (IMC) practice with students and foster good
relationships between the chapter and Coca Cola Ghana Limited. It was
also to expose students to practical knowledge and build connection
with practitioners on the field.
Speaking at the seminar, Mr. Ike
Cudjoe, Public Affairs and Communications Manager, said “IMC
will offer students more room to be multifunctional and prepare them
to solve organisational challenges”. He emphasized that the
IMC concept was designed to cater for all aspects of marketing communications,
such as advertising, sales promotion, public relations and direct marketing
as unified force.
Michael S.E. Bruce, president of
the students chapter said, the chapter is determined to bring Public
Relations practice to the doorstep of corporations in Ghana, adding
that, the event would grow to become a major forum for serious discussions
on Public Relations in future.
